Quakers Open Season with Road Victory Over Terre Haute South

The Plainfield Varsity football team kicked off the 2025 season in impressive fashion Friday night, earning a 31-7 road win over Terre Haute South. Senior running back Luke Starnes set the tone on the ground, rushing for 103 yards and three touchdowns. Through the air, quarterback Bryce Sebanc was sharp and efficient, completing 20 of 28 passes for 3 touchdowns. His scoring strikes went to Zander Nattam and Austin Ward, who each found the end zone in the passing attack. On the defensive side, the Quakers held Terre Haute South to just 213 yards of total offense. Ty White anchored the defense with 10 tackles and an interception, while Tyler Simek added 9 tackles to help shut down the Braves’ offense. With the win, the Quakers (1-0) return home next week to host Harrison (8/29) on Friday at 7:00 p.m. In other action, the JV team defeated Terre Haute South 35-0, while the freshman team fell to Martinsville, 0-24. *Photograph credits to Jeff Brown and bmwportraits.com*
