The Plainfield Volleyball team had an impressive week both on and off the court, combining strong performances with a record-setting fundraising effort. On Tuesday, the Quakers opened the week with a 3-0 mid-state victory over Decatur Central. The attack was well-balanced, with Marley VanWanzeele and Audrey Utterback each tallying 10 kills, and Macyn Jones adding 7. Setter Charlee Groninger guided the offense with 28 assists and also contributed 5 kills. Defensively, Savannah Brock led the way with 21 digs, while Kenzi Arnett was sharp at the service line, delivering 5 aces. The following night, Plainfield hosted Monrovia for Cancer Awareness Night, earning another 3-0 sweep. VanWanzeele (8), Eliana Tucker (7), and Jones (6) powered the attack. Groninger once again dished out 28 assists, while Kinsey Tripp and Gracyn Groninger each chipped in 2 aces. The defense was anchored by Taylor Donovon and Gracyn Groninger, who both recorded 14 digs. Beyond the court, the Quakers made an incredible impact, raising over $10,000 to support a Plainfield graduate battling cancer—the largest total in the event’s history. Coach Pax and the Plainfield Volleyball program continue to be a shining example of community leadership and generosity. The Quakers return to action at home on Saturday, starting with a matchup against Hamilton Heights at 10:00 a.m. Fans are encouraged to come out and support the Lady Quakers. *Photograph credits to Matt Edwards*
