The Cross Country teams turned in strong performances at the Mid-State Conference meet on Saturday, hosted at Franklin High School. Both the boys’ and girls’ squads brought home impressive individual and team finishes. In the boys’ race, which featured 158 runners, senior Ryan Evans led the way with a stellar 2nd-place finish to earn All-Conference honors. He was joined by teammate Zane Deugan, who also captured All-Conference recognition with a 9th-place finish. Rounding out the scoring for the team were Zac Siddons (20th), Jackson Hayes (22nd), and Connor Wright (29th). Their collective effort secured a 3rd-place team finish in the Mid-State Conference. The girls’ team, competing in a field of 93 runners, also had plenty to celebrate. Adisyn Gorrell (5th) and Katie Campbell (6th) both finished inside the top 10 to earn All-Conference honors. Supporting the team’s success were Tinley Woodruff (12th), Madison Weaver (18th), and Hailey Kelley (22nd). With those results, the girls’ team claimed an impressive 2nd-place overall finish in the conference. The Cross Country team travels to Terre Haute this Saturday for the Nike Twilight run. Good luck to Coach Arvin, Coach Woodson, and the teams. Go Quakers!
