Quakers Advance in Sectional With Thrilling Win Over Brownsburg

The Plainfield boys’ tennis team battled its way into the sectional semifinals with a dramatic 3-2 victory over Brownsburg on Tuesday night. The Quakers struck first as Brock Remali earned a hard-fought win at No. 3 singles, 6-3, 0-6, 7-5. The No. 2 doubles duo of Warren Wittenbring and Cole Smith extended the lead with a convincing 6-2, 6-2 win. Brownsburg answered back, taking matches at No. 2 singles, where Jack Davis fell 7-5, 3-6, 3-6, and at No. 1 doubles, where Aiden Guthrie and Gabe Thorne dropped their match 2-6, 2-6. With the score tied 2-2, the deciding point came down to No. 1 singles. Josh Knowles delivered in clutch fashion. After winning the first set 6-2, Knowles dropped the second 2-6, setting up a winner-take-all third set. Showing determination and grit, he pulled through 6-4, clinching the victory for Plainfield. The Quakers now advance to face Danville in sectional play on Wednesday night, with first serve scheduled for 5:00 p.m. Congratulations to Coach Bradley and the entire team on a thrilling win!
