The Plainfield volleyball team capped off an undefeated Mid-State Conference run in dominant fashion Tuesday night, sweeping Franklin 3-0 on the road to secure the Mid-State Championship. The Lady Quakers stormed through league play this season, dropping just one set in all conference matches, and their performance against the Grizzly Cubs showcased the balance and depth that defined their championship run. Setter Charlee Groninger anchored the offense with a stellar all-around effort, tallying 34 assists, 2 kills, and 6 digs. At the net, Audrey Utterback powered the attack with 21 kills, while Marley VanWanzeele added 9 kills and senior Eliana Tucker chipped in 6 kills. From the service line, Kezie Arnett kept the pressure on Franklin with 5 aces, while also contributing 9 digs defensively. Taylor Donovon led the back row with 15 digs, helping Plainfield control the tempo throughout the match. With the win, Coach Pax and the Lady Quakers not only wrapped up an undefeated conference season but also continued to build momentum heading into the state tournament. The team now turns its focus to a tough road test at Carmel on Thursday night, where another big showdown awaits. Congratulations to Coach Pax and the entire Quaker Volleyball program on their Mid-State Championship!
