The Quaker boys’ soccer team celebrated Senior Night in style, defeating Decatur Central 3–1 in a Mid-State Conference matchup on Tuesday evening. Before kickoff, the team honored its senior class, and it didn’t take long for one of them to make an impact. Just five minutes into the match, senior Evan Marble opened the scoring with a well-placed strike to give the Quakers an early lead. The Hawks responded with a goal of their own, sending the match into halftime tied 1–1. In the second half, the Quakers’ seniors took over. In the 60th minute, senior Jerry Saintil connected on a brilliant cross from fellow senior Emerson Jean to put the Quakers back in front. Just five minutes later, senior Cameron Carman added another goal, extending the lead to 3–1 and sealing the victory. With the win, Coach McAdams and his squad turn their focus to postseason play, where they’ll face the Hawks again next week in sectional action at Pike. A special thank-you goes out to the Quaker seniors for their leadership, dedication, and lasting contributions to the boys’ soccer program. *Photographs credit to Matt Edwards*
