The Quaker boys' tennis team advanced to the sectional championship, defeating Danville 5-0. The first win of the night came quickly from the No. 2 doubles team of Warren Wittenbring and Cole Smith, who posted a 6-0, 6-0 victory. At No. 2 singles, Jack Davis was next off the court, winning convincingly 6-0, 6-1. Soon after, Brock Remali clinched the team victory with a strong performance at No. 3 singles, winning 6-1, 6-1. The remaining matches provided plenty of excitement for fans. At No. 1 doubles, Gabe Thorne and Aiden Guthrie battled through a tense second set before sealing the match with a tiebreaker, 6-2, 7-6 (7-3). As has become his trademark the past two nights, Josh Knowles was the last Quaker on the court. After rallying from several games down, he captured the first set 7-5 and rode the momentum to close out the match 7-5, 6-0. With the sweep, the Quakers now advance to face Avon in the sectional championship on Saturday at 10:00 AM at the Avon tennis courts. Go Quakers!
