The Plainfield Quakers closed out their regular season in dominant fashion Thursday night, defeating Franklin 7-0 on the road. Senior Jules Charles set the tone early, scoring the first two goals to give the Quakers a 2-0 advantage heading into the 50th minute. From there, the offense erupted. Evan Marble connected on a header off a well-placed corner from Raiden Brandgard, and soon after, Emerson Jean added a goal of his own. The scoring continued with another header, this time from Jerry Saintil, before Raiden Brandgard found the back of the net himself. Alcene Kagirabana capped off the offensive outburst with the team’s seventh and final goal of the night. The Quakers now turn their attention to the postseason, opening sectional play Monday at Pike against Decatur Central in the first round of the state tournament. Good luck, Quakers!
